Which 6PPC

Well i have been thinking about one. Was just looking at shilen's website and he has all these different ones listed.

6mm PPC (.262")

6mm PPC Sako (.270")

6mm PPC (.264")

6mm PPC USA (.262")

What is the difference? Necks only?

And which would be best for a new shooter?

There are probably more PPC reamer print designs than any other cartridge. You would have to get specifics. One has to do some careful measurements to ensure they order the proper sizing die because the Sako and PPC USA brass are slightly different than Lapua and Norma brass.

FWIW the .262 is the favorite neck dia. See Jack Neary's 6 part BR presentation on Youtube .....Jack says "think thin to win" ( i.e thin necks)

I expand them and then use my 6ppc bushing die to resize them with a .265 bushing, my loaded rounds measure .2675, would like a little more neck tension but don't have a .264 bushing, my fired brass measures .270 so I have a little more clearance than I do with lapua brass but it works fine for me

seat a bullet and then measure the necks again,,,I have a .268 neck chamber and still have to turn my necks with Norma brass and even more with Lapua 220 R brass,,,with Barts 68 BT I turn my necks to 10 and a half to 11 K and get a .265 loaded round and use a .263 bushing,,

with a .262 chamber you will have to get your necks down to .008 -.0085

I am not sure what the Sako factory chamber is but I can shoot Norma brass without turning necks but the Lapua is too thick and have to skim a little off for it to work in the A1 we have,,

Our lots of Norma doesn't require turning to shoot in a 268 neck. Loaded round measures 265. It's the new stuff some bought last year and some this year.

the Norma brass I have came with the rifle and not sure how old it is but the necks measured .2668 and would chamber but thats too tight for my likings and turned them to measure .265,,

the Sako Daddy has is an A1 marked 6mm PPC ,,the latter Sakos were marked 6mm PPC USA and I think they changed the necks slightly to avoid copy right laws,,
