Which 6.5 bullets for competition

Something to consider. I tried a 6.5x47 several years ago, force feeding it 140 and plus bullets. Took it off after about 300 rounds and went back to a 6brx. I have often felt with that case size I might do better in the 130gr area or even a bit less. One of these days I will revisit that project. I think I got caught up in bc numbers..The target will tell the truth.
130 grain Horn ELD-M and Berger 130 gr OTM's ( Hybrids) ARE where it's AT, for the Smaller cased, 6.5's IMO.
The 130 gr. M's, Shoot, Small Clover Leaf's out of, my Braked, 6.5 Creed Tikka at, 2,850 FPS with, LITTLE Recoil !
I mostly use it for, LR Varmints ( Yotes ) and Fun Steel Plates to,.. 850 yards.
I don't know, IF, either Bullet, would Be, "Competitive" @ 1,000 yds, tho ??

What powder and primer are you using?

RL 15 and CCI BR4 primers .010 off lands in my rifle. Berger and VV load data are good starting points. Also comments on the Home page for the 6.5x47L are useful.

Been using RL15 since 2010 with the exception of a season playing with 140 Bergers and H4350. The rifle just tracks better with the 123-130 grain bullets.

139gr Lapua Scenars and 142gr Sierra SMKs have outshot the Bergers in all 5 of my 6.5 caliber rifles.

140 Hybrids. A fella once told me,” If you’re not shootin Berger, you’re gettin beat by Berger”.
