Which 22 rifle

I have had an itch for a different 22 lately but do not know which one I would like.
I have had a Bergara .It shot very well but did not like it.
I have been looking at CZ varmint and the Tikka. Looks like the cz would be a good one because I like wood stocks and not really fond of the plastic on the Tikka . What I really like is functionality and accuracy , which brings me to you guys.
This gun will be in the truck most of the time for squirrels ,crows and such but it will be on the range a lot too.
Pros, cons would be very helpful in helping me make up my mind.
PS: I do not want to spend $1000.00+ for it just to throw in the truck.
Thank you for your help.

I have a CZ 452 in 17hm2 and a T1x in 17hmr. I favor the CZ perhaps due to the wood stock. This is an older CZ -never handled the newer 455.

I have a lot of CZ’s and no Tikka (rimfires). I would choose the Tikka T1x for that task. The newer CZ sporters are a crap shoot as far as accuracy, but I’ve never heard of an underperforming T1X.

Edit: Or find you a marked up BRNO 2 or CZ 452. It won’t hurt that is for a few dings and scratches since it’s going to be a truck gun.

pros: cost

cons: everything else.

But if you are going to keep it in the truck, then it will likely get beat up. And if you get pulled over in California with this in your truck, then maybe you will be less likely to get beat up. And at the range, as you gently set this rig into your SEB Neo rest and Edgewood rear bag, after placing your Leica spotting scope in position and carefully laying out your Lapua Midas ammo, imagine how many newbie shooters will come over, and you can boast the rifle only cost $185.

I don't think that you could go wrong with a CZ. I once posted here about have more wood stocked bolt action 22s than the law will allow. And I do. But Ive discovered CZs and have bought 2 since then. I think they are the finest rifles I own, fit, finish, quality value the CZs are nicer than any of my Rugers or Remington centerfire rifles. As far as getting beat up in the truck, it will only get beat up if you allow it. They make soft cases every day.

I had a CZ 457 MTR, was disappointed to say the least. Fit finish and accuracy wasn't there for what you pay. Buy the Tikka and never look back. Unless you are spending over $1k which you stated you don't want to do, this is your best bet IMO.

I agree. Buy the Tikka T1X. There is nothing wrong with their plastic stock.
