As many of you know by now, we (Judy and I) will be moving to Georgetown, Texas in a few weeks.
From where we have been living here in the greater St. Louis, MO area, I was able to shoot at 100 to 600 yards at the Bench Rest Rifle Club in Wright City, about 20 miles away, which I did for practice and matches. Also, at Big Piney Sportsman Club in Houston, MO, three hours away, for their monthly 600-yard matches - weather permitting.
I also used to shoot several times a year to Camp Perry, IN, about five hours away for their 1000-yard matches.
I will be looking for clubs and ranges in Texas. I am aware of several that are one to three hours from Georgetown, which will be fine for matches.
I can still see the bullet holes without any problem at 300 yards, but I cannot see them at 600 yards. My concern is whether I will be able to setup my ShotMarker target at any of the ranges, or perhaps at a field, with the permission of the owner. I had special permission at the BRRC to setup my SM target at 600 yards, and this worked great.
I will appreciate your words of wisdom regarding where to setup and use my own ShotMarker target at least at 600 yards.
