Where to Rent 6mm Super LR Reamer?

Looking for a loaner reamer and have not found anywhere on the web to rent. Can anyone help out on this? Be glad to pay a rental fee.

Have you considered buying one from PT&G ???
There are usually 3 different free bore's on them.....

I bought a reamer and go guage from PT&G, had it throated just how I wanted it, and then sold it here. It cost me $60, not bad. Probably cost about the same as a rental for both items.

M.Williams: Only a suggestion, not saying it's the only way, but as said you may want to consider buying your own reamer from one of the major makers. I've been buying them from PTG at prices between $116 and $138, all with floating pilots. Usually about a 6 week wait, but you are getting a fresh, virgin reamer, and with the dimensions you want, not what someone has available.

If, after the chamber is cut you feel you have no further use for it, it can easily be sold here for about 80% of your cost. Having your own reamer also means that when the barrel is shotout and needs to be replaced another identical chamber can be cut, letting you use any and all previous brass that you used in the first cut. That alone can be a significant cost savings. ;)

I cannot accept spending about $325 for a new premium barrel blank, and another $200 to $225 for the gunsmith's work, and cutting the all important chamber with anything other than a new reamer. You will also make the gunsmith very happy.

I normally buy my reamers, not a big fan of renting due to not being able to get the throat, neck, free bore etc. you want. BUT, I am in a time crunch on finishing a rifle and having one made would throw me that much more. Just hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

O.K. I had no idea you were time limited. In that case my suggestion is probably not the right one for you.

I have most of my builds done over the Winter, our off season here in Pa., so a reasonable wait time is not a problem for me.

A further thought: You still might want to consider contacting the major makers. They may have what you need in stock. I do know that PTG has some of the most popular reamers on the shelf ready to go.

Here's some other reamer manufacturers: JGS Precision tool Inc. and Dave Manson Precision Reamer's Inc.

Excuse my ignorance but since the SLR is based on the 243 case and 6mm is 244 wouldn't the 6slr be the same as a 243 Winchester?

I'd give JGS a call. They seem to be R. Whitleys reamer maker of choice. I called them and had it in a week. Good luck, Kenny
