Where to point the reticle of the scope.

Hi,
A question,if you shoot bench rest,where point you the reticle of the scope,for shooting a very small group.

I point the reticle like the pickture
 
Good question. Hopefully the PPC guys will chime in.

Cross-hair alignment is the reason we created the following target, available for free download on our targets page:

You place the center of the reticle in the center of the diamond. Then it aligns with the diamond's corners and black lines. The Gray circle above is so you can shoot with a 200-yard zero. Aim at the same red diamond, but the POI will be higher.
 
When I shoot benchrest for competition, I like to set the scope up so that I can hold dead on the center of the bull. I will then adjust the scope to put the group approx. one inch low of the bull at the "six" position, ideally. If mirage is bad, then I will use the mirage box to center the crosshairs, and the group will follow accordingly

I have notice,sometime you see not good the line's from the bench target,maby because we shoot the most of time inside.
