sure is-- i am hoping they will toIt's a shame isn't it. I have 1000 of them and a pile of gp11 brass. I was hoping tula would start bringing them back in eventually.
just piddling around to see if i could do it. im not going ti go as far as trying to midify the primer pocket thoughJust curious, but why go through the trouble? Just for grins?
you could use the hydraulic method and get a bath at the same timeReloading berdan-primed cases? Well, some brass is either hard-to-get or very expensive, when you can find it. I have about 40 6.5x54MS berdan-primed brass that I reload because the boxer-primed stuff is so spendy. There's a certain loss due to the depriming tool chipping the anvil but that's just a few per batch.
no-- the ones i need are 6mm- bigger in dia than a boxer. drilling them wouldnt work anyway due to existing flash holes and i wouldnt do it anyway. Are the primers the same size? Can you drill holes for boxer primers?
i can buy the steel case tulammo for .36/round and cheapest i can find loaded brass/ boxer is about .50/round-- so 14 cents differance for the case. about what i can buy LC cases from brass bomber, but then i have to load them all. it just depends which ones are most accurate.Since all this Russian meddling in our election, I like them better than ever.
I once read that target shooters in Scandinavia would collect their 6.5x55 brass and send batches to Norma, where they had an assembly line that would hydraulically deprime, dry out and reload it to be refired. I have an RCBS claw type deprimer. It has a fine line between missing the primer altogether and nicking the anvil. Getting it adjusted normally costs a couple of anvils.you could use the hydraulic method and get a bath at the same timeno loss of cases though
hope you have quite a few of the primers as it doesnt look like they are available.
i dont have a commercially madeI once read that target shooters in Scandinavia would collect their 6.5x55 brass and send batches to Norma, where they had an assembly line that would hydraulically deprime, dry out and reload it to be refired. oh heck i thought norma usa would do it for meAnd $6 postage each to get them to Norma and back.
Are the primers in any of that Swiss ammo crimped in? I have the tool to deprime a berdan case and I have a small stash of primers but I'd have no clue how to remove a crimp from a berdan pocket, both because of the anvil and the diameter.
Hmmm..... What diameter are the primers? I've got a K31 I might shoot more often if I could load more ammo at a go.IIRC they have a small 3 point crimp. I had no problem slipping in a new primer without needing to remove the crimp.
