Where to get Barrett 98b rebarreled?

This is the best place I can think of to post this since this isn't a normal barrel setup and I haven't heard back from a couple of smiths that I emailed. The barrel has a barrel extension which is basically hand tight so it can be reused but it's odd the way the barrel installs. It slides in from the rear of the receiver and there is a castle nut that is installed from the muzzle end that pulls the barrel into the receiver. I bought the tools and pulled the barrel so you guys can get an idea of what I'm talking about.

Have you asked Barrett? I would think they would service their own products.

I'm wanting an aftermarket barrel on it and possibly go to a 300 norma mag.

You might talk to Tim or Lloyd at Rock Creek Barrels since they make barrels for Barrett.

Ken Johnson from K&P gun co is a world champ 50 BMG shooter who now makes cut rifles barrels and does some amazing accurizing work on the Barrett simiauto rifles.

While your gathering info , keep a record , most of mine are from the 1980s and earlier . It would be good to have a list of new products .

Ok I will keep a book--You know I have the Stuart Otteson bolt action rifle book vol 2 but i never got vol 1 and now its expensive. Ill make a list of all actions I can think of and try to get barrel specs.

Did you ever find out about the barrel for your 98B? I am trying to do the same, and hitting same walls.
