I have a basic understanding of the reloading process and have reloaded hunting rounds with good results.
I can read a chart/table and see what others have used to get a certain result- 150grn hpbt 52grns of powder x with primer z to achieve 3100fps etc.
Looking at a table I can see 10 different types of powder, know that they are different, that their burn characteristics are different but I don't know how they are different.
Is R22 faster or slower than H4381? Why? How?
How do I know when to choose one over the other?
What makes a CCI 200 primer different than a Rem?
Why choose one over the other?
Hornady's 150grn SST's have a higher BC than a Sierra Match King, why are the Sierras supposed to be more accurate?
I know this is pretty basic stuff compared to what a lot of folks are posting here but I can't seem to find a good place to answer the amateur questions. Any and all help appreciated, Matt.
