Does anyone know of a company making 22-6.8spc or 22 Grendel barrels for AR's? Or anywhere I could find one?
Dedicated Technologies has their 22DTI version, basically a 22x6.8 changed to a 30* shoulder:Does anyone know of a company making 22-6.8spc or 22 Grendel barrels for AR's? Or anywhere I could find one?
I'm looking for max velocity in an ar15 platform with lightweight .224 bullets. I currently coyote hunt with a .223 and looking for something to push them faster and hopefully close to 22-250 velocities. The 22 Grendel, 22-6.8, 22 DTI, and 22NXS should all be faster than the 224 Valkyrie. From what I have saw, the 224 Valkyrie isn't much faster than a .223 Rem with the lightweight bullets, but it is considerably better than a .223 Rem when shooting the heavies out of an ar platform where you are limited to approximately 2.250 COAL. I don't think the slight increase that a 224 Valkyrie would give me would be worth building another rifle but the increase of these other chamberings I believe would be worth it. I thought about trying a 6 ARC or 6 Grendel and running 58gr bullets but on paper it wasn't much faster than a .223. I've saw the velocities people are getting with these other 22 caliber chamberings and I am impressed and now set on trying one.Not to drive the thread off topic, is there a reason you are looking at those two and not the 224 Valkyrie?
