Where do you shoot?

I'm in the process of finishing up my canopy over my shooting bench. I have a 180 yds rifle range and pistol with multiple steel targets. I also have a couple of auto clay pigeons throwers for shotguns. I am lucky that I have my own range. The nearest public range is 20 miles away. I let friends and family come out and shoot. I just had the gravel for my canopy delivered today. And will put the bench in place once gravel is put in place.

yes! i dont blame them for wanting to be here... but i still dont like it. it is really bad around the lake. my kids fish at dequeen now because its so crowded here...
Pretty damn good fishing in and around DeQueen with Gilham, Dierks, and my favorite, Irons Fork just 8 miles from my home.

Pressure at Irons Fork is minimal and they have not only a lot of fish there, but some real lunkers. It's really a local secret and we like to keep it that way.

No pressure is nice. Especially when taking your time. I don't like to be rushed. Especially if you can't make up your mind what you want to shoot that day. Only issue is it takes ems hours to get there if an accident or emergency does happen.

Mena has a very nice hospital and EMS is very good. We have a membership that costs $80.00 a year for unlimited ambulance and helicopter transport if needed. This is a no brainer in our area. Also have a fully staffed VA annex so I get care from them and Medicare. We checked this area out really well before moving here 3 years ago

I shoot at ProTEQ Firearms Academy located north of Brazil IN. They have 8 outdoor ranges including a 500 yd rifle range. The different ranges are available based on the level of annual membership that you purchase, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Over the years, I've encountered a few individuals who had questionable safety practices, but it was always an issue of ignorance. We respectfully and politely provided some impromptu safety training which resolved the issue. If there were ever an issue that couldn't be resolved respectfully and professionally, I have no issues having such a person removed from the range.

Nice. I have always thought, I could be wrong, that many ranges disallowed auto loaders b/c of liability issues.

Prívate club near Crosby Texas. Three 40-50 yd pistol bays, three rifle ranges, a shotgun range (an empty pasture), and a lot of good friends to shoot with.

Before that a public range, LOTS of bullet holes in the roof at the firing line. I don’t miss that place.

Nice. Open air shooting is best imo. I strongly dislike the indoor ranges. Don't really bench rest but sometimes will sit in a chair to shoot when my knees begin to ache.

Im a member of CRPC on the edge of Charlotte NC which is a million plus metro region. We have thousands of members, yet poor attendance for competitions and seems like a personal private range on weekdays. Damnedest thing I've seen. Generally a core group of old guys is it.

Pretty much every day I'll shoot PCP air rifles from the shooting bench behind the couch, down the hallway. It rains on the wet side of Washington from September to July 4th. If you shoot/tune airguns, the chronograph is your friend. On the rare occasions it's not raining, Ill set up a portable bench outside. Max distance is ~75 yards.

I shoot powder burners at a private range about 25 miles from here. Has covered bays and typically when it's raining here the wind is not an issue. Also when it's raining, it cuts the shooters numbers down. Unfortunately, it's open to the public for a $20 range fee. We get the Tactical wannabees on rare occasions. Our RSAs don't put up with any BS. Closes at 5 to the public. Only members who have taken the afterhours training have gate cards to shoot from 5 to 8PM. Shooting bays are from 15 yards to 200.

I have a 100m Range on the other side of the hill from the house, and a 300m range in the front yd. I can only use the 300 m range when the campground is empty.
I belong to the local silhouette club, but it's 45 miles away. The nearest BR club is 250 miles. This is also the nearest 1000 yd range. WH

The pond dam on my son's little farm is the shooting lane and I'm close to having up to 200 yards to shoot. This weekend will be buying swivel and fixed casters for the target so I can move it to whatever distance that I need for that weapon/that day.
Perfectly calm..........

I really like our parcel of land. It's basically an open, empty field. No houses or buildings in sight but we did build a berm and use old railroad ties as a backstop. Mostly small arms and an occasional rifle or shotgun. Standard ammo too however I really should test out variety of jhp one of these days.

If by "auto loaders" you mean semi automatic, our range has no limitations in that regard. The only differentiations we have are rimfire only, and pistol calibers only, and no steel core ammo. All of this is dependent upon what the targets and backstops/berms were designed to stop. Some of the ranges allow everything, up to and including 50BMG, and some also allow full auto.
