Where did all the brass go???

so bottom line, would it really be worth almost double the cost to buy the Norma and have really good brass, or buy a metric ton of prvi to sort through and save money? Is the norma that much better? I guess that's my ultimate question. I don't have a problem shelling out for the better brass if I should, but should I?????

But Lapua 30-06 brass, run it through a 270 die first, then through a 25-06 die. Turn the necks to proper thickness and you will be happy.

Bullets.com has the Norma brass in 25-06 so it comes down to how much you value your time prepping and sorting and culling. Since I'd rate the pvri brass somewhere between LC and Lapua, I think I would spring for the Norma.

Aw heck, I think I'll just go with the PRVI. I'll get 2 or 3 hundred and be picky on the sort. I've got a month or so before the rifle will be done. I'm hesitant on the 30-06 reform because I have a savage striker that's a 30-06, wouldn't want to get them mixed up by mistake. Also, It'll probably be a little easier to come by the prvi down the road, those others have been out of stock for a while.

I shoot mainly PRVI and Lapua brass (7mm-08) after failures with Federal and Remington. The Privi is holding up perfectly and I will probably not be spending the extra money on Lapua anymore. Just ordered some in .308

Brass, bullets, powder, and primers, are all going through cyclic shortages. Almost all of these items are "batch built" using the same machinery within each component group. The manufactures will run a huge batch of one P/N based on previous sales and sales forecasts for each SKU. They've been guessing wrong lately due to the increased interest (and hoarding) so don't expect to just walk into your favorite shop and see what you need waiting for you.

To illustrate this I've been waiting for the second half of my order (1k) of Berger .224 80.5 Fullbores since last September. My supplier still has them on backorder for me so maybe someday.

I have nothing but praise for PPU brass. Great quality for the price point. I have been reforming range pick up .308 PPU brass to 7-08 for a few years. It has minimum neck wall variation of less than .002 for most of what I have measured and lasts for many firings. Last year with domestic 7-08 nearly impossible to find I bought 400 PPU 7-08 cases from Powder Valley for about $42.00 per 100. I decided to torture test 50 for longevity. I have pounded them 12 times each so far with 44.0 grs. IMR 4064 pushing a 120 Hornady V-max. My M700 24" Douglas SS barreled sporter prints this load under 1/2 MOA to 400 yds.

There is no heavy side wobble when rolling them on a flat level surface. Try that with RP or WW. The PPU cases weigh about 15 grs. more than WW cases on average, so a little less volume in comparison. So far they show no sign of giving up. I just gave them a second minor length trim and pockets remain tight, I loaded them up again two days ago. I will go as far as saying they are equal to or better than Winchester brass at less cost. And much easier to find when you need it. I also use this brand in 6.5x55 and .222 Rem. Made in Serbia is OK with me.
