When a rifle needs a crown?

My Savage with the factory crown likes 30.4 gr. Varget with a 105 VLD +.010. It will agg. 3/4 MOA at 600 yds. all day long. I have shot several groups under 1 1/2" with it.

Thank you guys, I got pretty good recommendations here. Definitely I will forget about the crown and raise my Varget charges, definitely Im way low, could be that I read wrong but I believe I took that recipe from 6mmbr.com

I will report as soon as I get more results

I've read if a 6br Norma won't shoot 30 grains of Varget with a 105 bullet, it won't shoot at all.

Be careful if your using a Hornady bthp though they have a long bearing surface and may be over pressure with 30 grains of Varget.

Using Varget, start at 27.5 and work up with 105's or 107's.

That has been my experience.

Are you sure? If you dented your freshly hacksawn crown with fguffeys hammer and punch right across one side- wouldnt that affect every shot? Or does 4 just sneak on by and that pesky 5th shot flyer raise its ugly head? I personally hate 5 shot groups i think we should go to 2 shot groups
Why not one shot groups...wait we will have to say group because groups is plural!
