Last Saturday evening Voldoc came to the Dome to shoot for the first time since 2014 and he brought a couple of new shooting buddies for their first visit to the Dasher DOME. Also Junebug came with toys. VolDoc started things of with a Diamondback Drop Port Dasher. It had a beautiful piece of English Walnut in the configuration of a ST-1000. Years ago Voldoc sent a ST-1000 to be copied and configured in a piece of local walnut he had procured. Voldoc checked his come ups up to 800 yards for a upcoming South Dakota prarie dog trip.
Next Voldoc pulled out Ole Dixie, a tried and true 22 BR. It's had not been shot in 5 years and the first two cold bore shots at 100 yds went through one hole. It shot great at 600 yds with the 53 V-max and at my urging Doc cranked up the NF to 800 and almost hit the prarie dog.

Junebug shot a rifle or three, then pulled out a rifle smithed by Alex Wheeler of Montana. 6mm BRAI, Bat B action, Drop Port, Wheeler LBR stock with rudder, timed Bix and Andy, and loaded with BART's 105 Hammers. After checking 100 yard zero, Bug let Voldoc shoot a group at 800 with it. 3 shots under 3 inches. Next Taylor, new to benchrest (but has a Bat MB on the way) sat under the rifle and shot 3 into 2.75" @ 800 yards. Both Voldoc and Taylors group went into the same spot in relation to the one inch bullseye.
Then Junebug told me to shoot it. I hesitated but remembered the Bix and Andy so I thought I would try just to check out the trigger. I think I had shot the rifle before but did not realize it had the Bix and Andy.
I set up and the first shot hit a couple inches below the black bullseye. Second shot could not see so we all thought it was in the black bullseye having heard the clang. Third and final shot also disappeared we assumed into the black. So I was real happy with all three groups and they appeared to all be about the same size looking through my Bugs NF Benchrest scope.
Since Taylor was a new shooter I asked if he and Voldoc wanted to ride up and take pics with their groups. They said yes so the four of us boarded up on the two gators and rode up to the 800 yard line.
I got off and too my surprise my target had no hits on the Bullseye. I told Junebug to take a look at it and I am not saying anything. Junebug said immediately he saw two hits and upon close exam Bug concluded there were three hits. Voldoc and Taylor said they knew they heard the impact clang from three shots.
