So you would also disapprove a smith using range rods for indicating ??

Another for what it's worth......I had installed a fixed 4X scope on a S&W
3000 pump shotgun for a friend. Put a slug into the berm at 25 yards and
walked the scope to the splash. Then having him do corrections to 50 yards
on paper. We were pretty dang close. I did not charge him. Two months later,
he dropped off 10 lbs of mixed burger to make chili.......

My smith uses an Interapid long reach indicator, I beleive.

My laser bore sighter is by Real Avid. I use it fairly often and it's good for getting on paper MOST of the time. I can set up near my basement door and use a neighbor's tree to get bore sighted. They had their other lot thinned out recently so I've lost my 50 yard tree but I can still get close on a rimfire by using 'something closer" than 50.
