Why yes I did. I got 6 Nosler factory rounds off before the bulldozer arrived to fix the Berm. I love the way it shoots. It tracks very nice in the bags. And less recoil than expected.I hope to have all my reloading supplies by the weekend.
I've settled on this load for all my 6.5-284 shooting:
Lapua brass
139 gr. Scenar seated .010" into the lands
48.5 gr. H4350
CCI BR-2 primers
I'm sure that I could go hotter, but this load seems to have hit a sweet spot in my 30" Bartlein 1/8.5" twist 5R barrel.
I'm also working with 51-52 gr. H4831sc and 142 SMKs' but for some reason this barrel likes the 4350/Scenar load a bit better. At this point I really don't want to use up half the accuracy life of the barrel searching for the elusive "perfect load" when I'm pretty satisfied with what I already have
Well, with the new barrel and new chamber reamer it is
Lapua brass
Lapua 139 gr Scenar seated .005" into the lands
48.5 gr H4350
CCI primer
I don't bother to use bench rest primers and have still achieved an ES of 8 and an SD of 3. However I have a case of that particular lot # of primers.
One safety factor to note, since I use a standard length action and a custom order reamer and thus seat the bullets for a COL well over 3.00",not at home and I don't recall how far) the powder might be a bit much for a shorter COL.
