What's with PT&G?

The only way I have been able to get one is have them mail it. I have never gotten a emailed print from them. The print will do nothing for you as it would be really rare that your reamer would be what the print says it should be anyway. If you want customer service you will have to order from JGS. There maybe others I just have not used them.
I only buy from JGS as far as reamers go. Not to bash PT& G as I buy other items from them, they are slow to respond to emails. I typically need follow up emails to get the response
 
I've had pretty good luck with PTG lately but expect long lead times. Still have some orders open from last september.
 
JGS, during 2018, went through some rough spots. They had some new equipment and procedures put in place and delivery time suffered. One order was promised in 8 weeks and was delivered in 16. I ordered another reamer later and it was promised in 12 weeks and it showed up as promised.
They have been very prompt on delivering prints and getting my order in the system.

I got caught in this little snaffu at JGS and my reamer was delayed 4 weeks. They were very upfront and told me about it before the reamer was even due to be shipped. They explained the problem and gave me a new ship date and they stuck to it. The only real consequence was that my gunsmith had to sit on the parts until the reamer showed up and I had to be patient for an extra month. Not a big deal for anyone involved and there were no problems with the reamer when it arrived. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again. Stuff happens, and JGS did right by me.
 
Just placed another $900 order with PTG. If you can predict what you'll need 8 weeks from you you don't have a problem...I'm somewhat successful. --Jerry
 
Good luck, perhaps the worst customer service i have ever experienced in my life. Believe me, I tried and tried, gave them more than one chance. Switched to JGS, hats off to them!
 
I haven't had a problem with them, three orders over the last 18 months. Two reamer prints, requested and received through email.

I got the same letter and it was refreshing to get a "heads up" from a manufacturer. Honesty and straight forwardness goes a long way with me.
 
I'm not a big player. My first reamer order with PT&G was perfect. Subsequently, I spoke with people that did not seem to know what I was asking...about a reamer's specs. After 4 calls and getting nowhere I asked this forum what I should do...JGS and life is good. PT&G make good stuff but it seems consistency is the big problem.
 
Dave makes great stuff and will talk you through anything , anytime. Dara is wonderful and if she says she's doing something , you can bank on it !
I’m completely confident in their product. They’re super busy these days and getting through on the phone was really tough. However responses to my questions via email came promptly and we got the details worked out.
 
I just got a clymer 6.5 creedmore , custom .090" fb for short bullets. ordered it yesterday got it today. I picked it up. Never thought this would ever happen. Tomorrow I'm taking it and 6.5 krieger and 600 remington over to my gunsmith. I hope it doesn't take more than one day ! Ha.
