Whats too heavy of a barrel 6bra?

NC/Br Shooter

If I order another barrel. Hang on. I am going to order another barrel. Its for 6bra so thats why Im asking here.
Question really is. Whats too much barrel for a standard 700 action with out having to do the barrel clamp.?
Im thinking of mtu at 28 inches.
Next would be full bull barrel.
Im assuming 30 inch bull barrel is way toi heavy for a stock action right?
Any thoughts welcome
thanks

I'm trying at target AR :)
It's that 22 Nosler I post about.
The barrel is X-Caliber's bull profile.
Also put one together for the wife. Making it a couple's thing.
Only been to 600 so far.

So I preciate all the input. I guess I really dont have anything to worry about. I got one gun still driving nails really well. Another that Im about to tear down and rebuild if something doesnt change. And another 700 receiver on the way thats going to get the works. I got a home made bolt stop to install then cartridge follower and it should be ready.
So here is a question.
To clean the threads up on a 700 receiver.
Can I buy a 1 1/16 x 16 tpi die and just run it in?
Assuming its fairly flat at the end not to hit the lug area?

yes but that is pretty much a waste of time and money.
mounted in a lathe recvr jig, the threads are recut with a single point tool,,,slightly over size, and then the bbl thread is cut to match.

I have a rem 700 varmint with a 1.25 29" 7 br barrel I have shot for over 10 years that shoots very good. It has barrel floated and hadn't been a problem. No barrel pad at all.

Yes you can do that. Occasionally action threads get tighter in close, caused by wear on the tap Rem. used.. Rem. barrels are threaded with enough clearance to account for this and they take it up with whatever locker they use. A closely cut barrel thread occasionally won't go in all the way. You probably don't have that situation, but if you do it's easily fixed with the tap. I have that tap and have needed to use it a couple times. Worked beautifully, surprised me how much metal was removed that last 1/4-3/8 inch...
