What's the difference between these two?

I can find no explanation on the Sinclair website and they both cost the same? Can anyone advise the difference between the:

Sinclair Comparator/Bump Gage Body #09-1000

and the

Sinclair XL Comparator/Bump Gage Body #09-1050

???

Just to the right of the "shopping cart" is a realitivley hidden Q+A section;
Q:
Can you please indicate the case size where the XL size gage body is necessary, need clarification on which size body to order for use with 308 and 338 LM.

Dear Sir,
The 09-1050 XL comparator body is used when you are checking the cartridge base to shoulder length (headspace) on a loaded round that wont chamber. For checking an unloaded cartridge case with a bump gauge insert or using a comparator insert on a loaded round the 09-1000 comparator body wil suffice.
Take care,

So it sounds like it's the tube part that screws to the caliper is longer with the XL,, make sence?

FWIW, very handy tool, a must for the loading bench, I use the Hornady model with the extra inserts pack, I use it for bullet and cases. The only real differance is steel inserts vrs aluminum

Thanks necchi! I understand now. Yes, definitely a must have. Unfortunately for me, I've been saying that about many things lately and it really adds up! Thankfully, the wife doesn't pay much attention to what tools are laying about on my work bench ;D
