WHATS THE BEST CHRONOGRAPH FOR THE PRICE

Shawn- Occasionally an Oehler comes up on this forum for sale. Sometimes on Ebay. They are the standard. May take a while but worth the wait.

I have owned about all the cheaper chronos. I wished I had bought an Ohler to start with. They are in current production right now and if I were you id get one while you can.

I bought the German PVM sold by Neconos after not being satisfied with the CED M2 performance in varying light conditions. I am VERY pleased with it's performance: works pefectly regardless of lighting. The rectangular screen is highly useful: allowing you to shoot multiple targets while still getting your chrono readings. This one is expensive, but I think it the best you can get.

Two thumbs up for Scott's assessment. My PVM-21 has never missed a round, has a large active area and is considerably more accurate than the Oehler, a much older design. Take a look at what Lapua is using in their new Mesa, Arizona, Rimfire Service Center. I think they could have bought anything they wanted but chose a Kurzzeit system with the same screens as the PVM-21. Although their system probably uses the professional BMC-21a control unit rather than the BMC-18 that the PVM-21 system uses, it has the same technology and performance specifications. [br]
