Hi Guys (Newbie Here) :)

What's the best cheek rest to buy in your opinion, for my 10/22 TakeDown Rifle ?

How do you make your own cheek rest ?

I'm a noob myself, and did it this way for my 308 on McMillan stock: I cut a block of wood wider, thicker, and longer than I thought I would need and began whittling, underside first, to fit and be relatively stable on top of the stock. Switch to a belt or drum sander for small reductions and to leave it smooth when getting close, but stop while it is still too tall and thick. This next part is tricky. Drill the block and stock simultaneously with a drill press to countersink into the wood the two 1/4" SS cap screws I got at the local lumber yard. The screws must drop down through the block into the stock, and the two (front and rear) holes must be precisely parallel. Glue the screws into the block. Then take to final contour, trying it on the stock often, with a scrap piece of thin soft leather laid over it. I was done when I established a comfortable, repeatable cheek weld with my eyes closed, and then when I opened my eye, I had a full, centered, sight image in the scope. Trim and glue the leather to the block. Go shoot and hit. I don't know how to download images from my droid to attach to this post. Good Luck.
