whats the best amplified ear muffs?

my grandfather is having trouble hearing the birds and wildlife in his back yard. this is one of his favorite past times and its upsetting seeing him not be able yo enjoy it like he used to. he has tried hearing aids and all the new ones give him ear infections. so I let him use my impact sport amplified ear muffs and he loved them. these are the only model I've owned so I was wandering if there was a model better suited for just amplification and not necessarily reducing the loud noise. thanks for your help.

check the Amazon reviews on this very reasonably-priced model: http://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-R-01526-Electronic-Earmuff/dp/B001T7QJ9O

those are actually the exact model I have. they work great for the range and will probably be fine. I was just curious if there are models better suited for just amplification

The company which is aluding me that makes the quad muffs.Just call or google it. I got it,walkers quad muffs are made just for hearing.

I have a pair of Peltor tactical pro muffs that I like pretty well. You might take a look at them.

I have the Howard Leight Impact models, they do well but I wish the actual noise reduction (gunshot noise) was greater. I'm interested in checking out the Quad Muffs though.

I haven't seen any that didn't work, the biggest issue to me is the comfort level . Most do about the same thing but there is a huge difference in comfort. Even the cheap $35 Caldwell muffs work well.

Have a pair of the Peltor Tectical too... work very well.
They either went up or were on sale, I paid 165.00 with S&H

The MSA Sordin have the best sound of any I have tried in 40 years. Fantastic sound in stereo. I can turn the volume up until I can hear everything in the back ground. I have a couple sets of them. You get what you pay for!

Which model do you use ? I have the standard Peltor which is OK but cuts out all noise - I want to be able to hear the wind coach without having to raise the ear muff every time !

Thanks
Martin.

I am using the PRO X. It works great. You can hear everything. It only cuts out the loud noise not all the noise. If I were hunting I would probably want one to hear critters at a distance.
