Whats a perfect no turn 6mm Rem chamber

I bought a used 6mm rem reamer . I cut a test chamber to the shoulder. Neck was .278 which seems huge.
Every regular hunting bullet I tried had close to .100 jump when seated 1 caliber deep from boattail. This also seems huge.
If you were to spec out a reamer for a no fuss chamber for a hunting rig, what would you use for neck and freebore dimensions?
Would be fed handloads only.
Please include why youd use those dimensions. Thanks

I just had a 6mm Rem chambered, .275 neck and zero free bore. I loaded some rounds for barrel break in but have not shot it yet. Mine is a 10 twist so I will be probably shooting 80 gr. or less bullets. With the zero free bore the 70 to 80 gr. I loaded had to be seated deep.

Thats good info, thank you.

If you get a factory reamer in 243 or 6mm they come .278. If thats what you have let r bump. If youre getting a new one like they said above .275 will fit em all. Get a zero freebore and throat it. One made for an 80 isnt good for a 105

measure the brass you have with a bullet seated,,,,whatever that is the reamer should be ~.003" larger ,,,,I have used .080" FB successfully with bullets from 68 to 108 and had no problem,,,remember the neck on a 6mm Rem is very long,,,so you can use less FB than common with the 105 class bullets,,,rmember it is not the cal. or ctg that determins what FB will work properly,,,,it is how long the neck is !!!!,,,,Roger
EDIT...remember there are many 65-70 gr bullets with varying ojives and shank lengths,,,the BT versions (Hottenstien, etc) work with FB of .040" and less like used in a "B"enchrest rifle,,,with .080" FB the Fowler/Watson style, which are flat base, will still give you ~.100" of shank in the case neck which is more than adequate,,,,I have found .060" or more shank to work great,,,if you get less than .050" shank the ctgs. become "delicate" and have to be handled like eggs so the bullets dont get dislodged !!!( trust me I know !!),,,
