What’s a good “red dot” sight for $200-400 ?

Ok guys. Thanks for all the input. I had to go see what was available locally and pay cash. I spent too much on powder and ammo on the credit card. I’m gonna get an earful! The local Gibson’s had some choices. I settled on a Sun Optics 1-6 for $300 and change. It has both red and green illuminated circle and dot. I looked in three stores for a Burris T6 but no joy. I looked at a Meopta for $600 but decided to try the Sun. It was cheap. Mayybe I’ll regret it? We’ll see. 30mm tube. Glass is clear. Feels solid. This gun is a “banger”. I’ll sight it in but then only pull it out for a desperate situation. I need some more mags!

The vortex spark is a good value and the bushnell tactical(Hate that word) but I have one and it works well.

Dang, you have a Gibson's? They all closed up here. I miss them.

:D
My favorite store! I go in for some nuts and bolts and grab some 00 buck on the way out! 50 feet of guns, knives, pistols and ammo to peruse! Did I mention I love Texas!:D
Martha has worked there for 30 years. I make it a point to get in line at her register so I can say hello and ask how she’s doing.;) She’s a pistol!:p

All right guys!!!!! Who cleaned them out? When I suggested the SIG Romeo 7 about a week ago, Optics Planet showed 24 in stock. I just looked and they are saying 4 to 7 months back order. Fortunately I did get one (I should have grabbed another). Whoever bought them won't be sorry. I found one locally for $290. But I'm good for now.

Most red dot sights on the market today work really well. The top of the line stuff will always be Aimpoint, EOTECH, Trijicon.... unless newer stuff comes out. Holosun has completely leveled up their game in the optics world. Their products are just getting better and better, and prices are pretty fair for budget shoppers.

HS510C is pretty popular, HS507K, HS507C, HS515 are all great optics to start buying. You don't need to get caught up in the Aimpoint VS EOTECH discussion if you don't want to spend too much.

I just bought a new RRA Coyote Rifle. I have a couple of Eotechs on other guns and after some extensive reading on a thread at AR-15.com, I ordered a Millett DMS 1x4x24 scope from Midway for $219. It has a 30mm tube and an illuminated 1 MOA dot inside a circle reticle. It can be used with or without illumination. I also picked up a CAA mount which allows for mounting it forward of where a set of rings would position it. It should be here in Monday or Tuesday. I figure on 4x it should be great on yotes out to 300 yards or so.

It might be worth checking out.
