What would you shoot?

What would you shoot at a gun range/club if you were limited to 100 yards?

Im limited on my shooting and shooting a 6mm, 7mm, 6.5, 30 or anything else just seems like a waste of money at 100 yards.

Smallest I got to reload is a 20VT. I can develop a load for that and shoot, but Im scared even that will be stupid accurate and no fun at 100 yards. Kinda thinking a .22lr would be the best 100 yard challenge...

I’m limited to 200 at my range. I shoot all my guns. For my super accurate guns I’ll shoot from weird positions or off saw horses or barriers I bring. I also bring weird targets like clay pigeons, golf balls, nails and place a Tylenol or something small or similar to it. Anything to make it a challenge.

Create games to keep it fun. We play horse with rifles. My buddy Ron would bring a new game each week.

Use 22lr if needed.

Anything can be challenging... it just depends on where you set your goals.

Just shooting “against yourself” or does this club have matches?

If you’re wanting to compete or shoot the smallest groups possible... 6ppc. If you’re just shooting for fun and want to keep costs down, probably something in a .22 caliber.

If my local range limited me to 100 yards,
I'd take a ride up into the woods, find a wide spot on a log road build a fire have some lunch and make little rocks outta big rocks across the draw.
Yup that's what I'd shoot, sorry I cant be more help with caliber choices.

I THINK MY 22BR WOULD BE MY FIRST CHOICE WITH MY 223 ACKLEY WITH A CLOSE SECOND CHOICE AND THEN MY 22LR BENCH GUN

Hmmm....
While o do shoot alot at 100 yards, my shooting tends to be anywhere from 25 yards to 1,000 yards.
Used bowling pins make good targets (50 cents each from local alley).

Silhouette animals and a carry pistol are good practice also.

As far as 223 is concerned, i'm trying to talk my wife (her rifle) into some 600 yard matches. 20 rounds within 1 inch at 100 yards with boring regularity from her Savage 110FP.

I built a AR-15 Precision rifle with a 24" White Oak heavy barrel chambered in .223 Wylde (1 in 12). I have it consistently sub 1 MOA and often 1/2 MOA with 55 grain bullets. I built it for PD's but it is just fun at my 100 yard range. I wanted to see if I could get an AR-15 to do sub 1/2 MOA. Barrels are easy to change. I just swapped out the upper replacing an Aero Precision with a DPMS Lo Pro. It is an ongoing project and it is fun to shoot.
