What Wilson bushing size

Hi, I have gotten a 6ppc with a .268 neck, what size Wilson neck bushings will work best for me. I will be shooting a 66gr bullet. Being new to benchrest shooting, I appreciate your assistance.

Regards,
Ed

What powder do you intend to use?

What's going to be the Outside Diameter of your loaded round measured at the pressure ring?

You're using Bart's Ultra 66 grain flat-base bullet, correct?

Measure a loaded round then subtract the amount of neck tension you want to run (.001 or .002 usually) and that will give you the bushing size you need. Brian Brown.

as the others are saying...the ND is secondary...it depends on what you turned the necks to (how much clearance??)....loaded ctg neck dia. is what determins bushing ....usuall .002 or .003 smaller....remember the wilson bushings are tapered so you can invert them and make them .0005 smaller.....the Redding are a crap shoot...they are usually one or two thou. tighter than marked,,,they work good but are in my experience NOT as marked!!....Roger

Thanks all for your advise. I am waiting on my 6ppc supplies to arrive. I will wait on the bushing until I measure a seated bullet. I plan to use N133 , the 66gr bullet is flat based.

N133 likes a lot of neck tension [taught to me by a Super Shoot Winner]. When you get the OD dimension, ideally .002" under neck chamber size, use bushings .003" or .004'' under that size. [For example: .268" neck chamber, .266" OD, measured at the pressure ring, after the neck is turned and the bullet is seated, then try .263" or .262" bushings.] Carbide bushings make the job much easier.
