What & Who's Dies are you Using for .284 Win Match Chamber?

Found the correct schematic for the chamber my smith is using and was wondering what dies to use for my .284 Win Match F-Class rig. .317 neck, .220 FB, 1.5° Lead. Anyone using Whidden Gunworks' sizer? How about Neil Jones dies? Neil uses your fired brass to build his dies. Full length, body die, is a micrometer seater a worthwhile investment?

I use a Whidden full length, bushing, sizing die and a Wilson seating die. I have a micrometer top on the seater die. The micrometer top is not necessary but it does make it easier to make repeatable adjustments. I also have a full set of Redding dies for my .284 but find myself only using the Whidden die. I have several Whidden dies and they are all of high quality. Whidden will also make custom dies based off of your fired case if you want.

I use a Warner Tool die with my many 284's, and make my own seaters with the reamer used for the chamber. A quick check with a caliper tells me exactly where the bullet seats...

1+. I also use a Warner Tool sizing die, but I use Wilson seating dies. Very straight ammo.

I will put up a shout out for Preachers seaters. I came across on in a multi part deal and they a vacuum tight and straight as a snap string. You can buy any seater you want, but if you want this one get ready to thin your wallet!

I have PT&G make resize reamers based on my chamber reamers and believe this produces the "best" result: best run-out and best fit for your chamber.

Forster FL and Redding bushing neck sizing dies in a Forster press. I FL size every other firing. My chamber reamer is .313 and the Forster has a .309 and I use a .309 bushing in the Redding. Necks come out .311 . Very strait ammo. Forster can custom ream your die to your chamber spec and has good service.

As well as several other expensive, semi-custom presses. I use a Lee Classic Cast and it works very well. Most presses with 1¼-12 threads are fairly large but that is not necessary with Warner dies. Sizing force is low due to the perfectly fitted sleeve that sizes the case only as much as required to chamber freely.

I guess never bothered to notice that there is a giant bushing in my Redding and Lee presses.

Gonzos, what was the turnaround like for the Whidden die? I need this ASAP so I can fire form and test before the Berger SWN. No arbor press so Wilson's are out. Warner impresses me as extremely precise but also to have an extremely long turnaround time as do their sights.

If I remember right about 3 weeks - but that was a year ago. If you call they will tell you what the time frame is and if you tell them you are short on time they might hurry it along - nice people.

Both my 284 WIN and 6BRX are sized with RCBS body dies and Lee Collet neck sizing dies with custom, fatter mandrels to lower the seating pressure. I also use a Lee press and a K & M press with force gauge for bullet seating.
