What to carry for an antelope hunt.

I've been invited on an antelope hunt next year in Colorado. Since I live in Ohio I don't have a lot of need for big game rifles. I have a Rem. 700 VFS in 308 and a sporter weight Rem. 700 in 7 mag. to choose from. Both are sub MOA rifles. Are either of these suitable for the task, or should be looking for something else?

Just a couple of things to think about -
Either caliber will do the job, antelope are small and thin skinned, it does not take much to kill one.

If you are doing a "walk and stalk" type hunt the 700 VSF is going to be heavy and awkward in the field, they are great from a rest but they do have their limitations as far as handling qualities.
The sporter weight 700 in 7 Mag will carry and handle better but then it will have more recoil to deal with.

Like everything in life whichever you take will be a bit of a compromise - with that being said I would suggest that you take the one you shoot best. Not just from the bench but try various field positions to see which shoots and handles the best for you.
