What to buy? Help me pick...

I want to upgrade my reloading procedures and brass prep for my 6.5x47 lapua. I have a little money that I want to spend on it. I am just not sure which tools I should buy first. What tools for reloading or brass prep will increase accuracy more?

I am shooting a Savage Varmint action, HS precision stock, Shilen barrel, and 8.5-25x50 VXIII. It currently can shoot small 100 yard groups in the 2's and I have shot some 1 inch groups at 400 and 1.5 inch at 600 yards. It just is not consistent and would like to close the gaps further or keep it consistently shooting tight.

Right now I have RCBS Rockchunker, digital scale, trickler, RCBS hand primer, primer pocket cleaner, FL Forestner Sizing and Seating dies, and reloading tray.

Things I would like to buy but not sure where to put my money first:
Arbor Press
Wilson Dies
neck turner
primer pocket uniformer
Deburring tool for flash holes
VLD chaffering tool
Case Trimmer
Bullet comparitor
Concentricity Gage
Caliphers

If you have any other recommendations let me know. I appreciate all the help.

I come here to learn just like you but I can help a little bit. From your list, I would definitely say get some calipers. How do you take measurements now ? A case trimmer would be a good idea. Bad things can happen if the case neck is to long and consistency = accuracy. A bullet comparator is also good to have since the tips of bullets can vary quite a bit.

I really like my RCBS case prep center. It has dropped my prep time by at least 70 percent. You can install all the goodies you really need on it, VLD inside chamfer tool, outside case mouth dubrring tool, primer pocket uniformer, primer pocket cleaning brush, flash hole uniforming and deburring tool + stationary neck brushes on top.

The second tool would be a RCBS casemaster, for checking runout at the neck and on the bullet

Third, a good neck turning tool, lots to choose from.

Fourth, learn to aneal your brass. Neck tention and bullet release are key.

A case trimmer, callipers, and other small inexpensive measuring devices should have been purchased on your initial investment. I wouldnt load anymore untill you get a set of callipers and a trimmer at least. You have to know your brass length or things could get dangerous.

I was lucky enough to have a mentor guide me through it.

Stay safe and good luck

Good luck
