What to buy for a newbie reloader?

Now's the time to put all the reloading stuff you accumulated over the years and no longer use and put them in a box, place a $1500 sticker on it, and give it away for free :p

or not...

And then you can buy some primers :)

Friend wants to get her husband a reload set up for Xmas. He will be doing more hunting type reloading than bench so he really only needs middle of the road stuff. She only wants to spend around $1500. Any good ideas? Will need everything but the dies for now

Gary, given the scarcity of components, he might be better off fishing. Lol

What cartridge is he shootin?
The answer to this will let me know how I can help you shove him down the rabbits hole.
He has several calibers to reload for. Far as components I will help him out there just to get him going.

The rcbs turrent would be a great start. Imo.
Easier to get the hang of it, learning as you go.

But seriously, he's picked the wrong time to get into this. In a yr the market may be flooded with all the stuff no longer in use due to the restrictions of components. It may all be scrap ....

Take a picture of the loading kit and put the money in the bank.

I tried to buy the

LEE PRECISION II Shotshell Reloading Press 12 GA Load All

On the 7th put in an amazon order for $80, got an email on the 8th saying it was out of stock and the order was cancelled. The company then relisted the loader for $160.

I complained to amazon and got it for $6

company pulling this crap was Birra-Gamme Online Store3
Be happy it was out of stock, buy a used mec 600 and you'll be a lot better off.
