What to build for wife

Personally built my wife a custom 243 win about 10 years ago. She has shot it once in 10 years! I thought it was a nice thing to do for her. She appreciated the effort but just not her thing. Maybe someday.

If she is fine with the Roberts recoil you are golden for a deer rifle ...just pick out what you want and when you refer to the gun call it "Our gun "...like you both had a say in it. Win/Win:)

The 257 Roberts would be perfect. You can share ammo, she knows what it recoils like, and you can do the stock in her proportions.

My wife shoots a 6creed on a trued remmy in mcmillian a3-5 she loves it, hell I was half hopeing she would hate it as I love her rifle, it’s a laser. I will say in my experience having two bolt guns of the same caliber is tough on keeping brass organized. That’s why she didn’t get a bra. Plus creed brass needs no fireforming

My friend (who earlier used 25-06 w/ 80-gr TTSX on pronghorn) just took this elk in SW Idaho using a 6.5x55 Swede, 100-gr TTSX, 3300 fps from 284 yards. Dropped in its tracks. Accurate and light recoil for the lightning killing power he has experienced with that bullet.

Hey guys I'm looking for thoughts and advise based off experience for a clambering geared towards deer for my wife. I'm just about ready to start compiling components yet I don't even have my starting point. I'm considering the 260 rem or 6.5creedmoor. I have my no experience with either cartridge. I am a avid handloader so once components are purchased ammo won't be an issue. I'm leaning toward the creed because brass seems to be everywhere right now. I cant see recoil mattering much between the 2, or am I wrong? I'm also thinking about a 8twist.
How about a sleek galvanized mop bucket on a set of coasters!

I bought my wife a new vacuum cleaner for her birthday in our first year of marriage, which only lasted three years.

Does she do any shooting beside hunting? What type of shots do you get when hunting? Does she need to carry it for long hikes? What is her upper body strength like?

It's hard to make a suggestion without knowing any of that.
