What stock for f class and long range shooting

Looking for ideas for a stock for a Remington 700 short action. Barrel is a krieger 30" light varmint contour. Currently I am using an HS Precision stock but I don't think it balances well and doesn't ride the rear bag well with the adjustable lop. I was thinking about the McMillan MBR Tooley stock.

There are a lot of McMillan Tooley MBR stocks being used for LR shooting. McMillan also makes an F-class stock with an adjustable cheek piece.

You can also find the MBR styles in laminated wood. They all work really well for LR.

Also, Masterclass stocks are a very good choice as well.

Check out www.russoriflestocks.com and Baercustomrifles.com for some nice laminated stocks.

Thanks for the response sir. The shooting will be done off a bipod of some sort or another does this change anything?

The pr&t ftr stock is the best ive seen. May not have the tactikool look but its the best ive seen with its long forend for balance and the rear is made to ride a bag

Those stocks are wood aren't they? I'm not looking for tactical looks. I'm looking for the most stable stock. The gun is chambered in the 6x47 Lapua. I'm shooting 108 Bergers and it's shooting really well with h4831. I am just having a hard time keeping it steady with the current stock. Seems like I'm fighting with it. I see McMillan has mbr stocks on hand.

Might consider Tommy Shurley's stocks. He is a super nice guy and his low rider stocks have done well nationally. Take a look at his website ( Shurley Brothers Custom Rifles and Stocks
www.shurleybrothers.com ) and give him a call.

I looked at the low rider from prt and shurley. The prt said it was geared towards bench rest. I should have been more descriptive. The stock I'm looking for is for prone shooting.

If youll look under pr&t stocks they have the /tr model. Thats what i was referring to. Its not designed to be shot from a bench. Heres the page with the completed ones just go to the products then lowboys then scroll down.

The PRT stock is really long in the fore end and helps balance out a 30 inch barrel so they track on the rear bag. It doesn't matter if you are shooting off a rest or bipod. If the rig is front end heavy the tracking suffers. If you buy the flat one (benchrest) you can shoot it either way prone with a bipod or benchrest off a rest. Maybe later down the road you want to shoot off a rest. Matt
