What size rings?

I picked up a Tikka/Ithaca LSA-55 Turkey gun 12ga over 222 rem. I need to know what size rings to put on the dovetail on receiver (not drilled or tapped) and I don't want to alter the gun. Is the dovetail 3/8" or 11mm or something else? Anyone have one of these know what rings to use?
Thanks

Hi 65joe,
I gather that the LSA-55 is a break-open action.
When you say dovetail, is it actually machined or are you looking at the sighting rib?
The reason why I say this is that many types of sighting ribs are soldered on, and installing a scope on such a rib might be dangerous.

Action is break open 12ga over 222 Rem. The receiver is machined dovetail separate from the rib on the barrels.http://picturearchive.auctionarms.com/6306183507/8239723/acfd3ab.jpg
Thanks

Hi 65joe,

Thanks for the picture. The size of a dovetail is where it is at its widest. Use a caliper and you should have a measurement that you can use to find out what type of rings you can get. FYI, CZ does have diferent size dovetails on their rifles.

Let us know what happens next.
