What rings?

Have a 7-08 built on a Stiller Tac 30 with their 1 pc 0 MOA rail. Plan was originally for a larger obj diameter scope but have since settled on 3.5-10x40 Leupy. Have Burris sig zee med rings and am afraid scope will be sitting too high and Burris does not offer their sig zee rings in low. What reccomendations do you guys have for rings? I would rather stay away from vertically split rings.

I'm curious why you want to stay away from the vertically split rings? I switched to Warne rings about three years ago and won't buy anything else for my hunting rifles. I've never had a set leave a mark on any of my scopes and I'm constantly swapping scopes around.

I've never used Talley rings myself, but lots of guys swear by them as well.

I will second the Warne rings. I was not a fan of the vertically split rings but they have won me over. I've mounted and removed 3 scopes in them now without a single mark. They are very well made too.

Recommend you check out Seekins rings. There are rock solid and a great value. You can see them at Seekins Precsiion web site and Glenn is super to work with.

+1 Cut the base and use the Burris rings.

What do you guys mean by cutting the bases down? How is that done and how much elevation can you cut it down?
