What "RING DIE" for Reducing Base for .308

Lee bulge buster and 45ACP carbide die will size the entire base down without touching the shoulder. Helps to tighten the pockets somewhat too.
I bought the Lee carbide sizer. I have removed the depriving rod. Do I have to drill out the die or remove the threaded part ? A .308 will not fit through.

I didn't read the entire post but, I wonder if Eric Cortina's new sizer would work? I think his address is shootsmall.com.

Back on the subject. Charles Huckaba told me to cut about .200" off the bottom of your sizing die and drill the shoulder out with a drill that is plus .020" or so. Now you have an adjustable small base die.

I had also used a .45 ACP Die until it wore out , and would no longer give me a "work-able" case . The new Ring Die from @Uthinkuknow is outstanding , and brought the dimensions back for good fit . A good choice , and worth the price if you do a lot of shooting , and don't want to throw away a lot of good useable brass .

Would a 30 06 full length sizer die do the job of sizing Only the .308 case base.
Paul, I've suggested many times how easy it is to make one. Get a cheap 308 full sizing die and drill the neck out to a diameter about the shoulder diameter. I usually take about .150" off the bottom of the die. Adjust your die down a small amount at a time until the cartridge fits your chamber.
