What rifles are the least picky with ammunition?

I have a Tikka M595 in .308 I bought in 1994,the only gun I hunt with. It will shoot any 165-168 gr ammo in .750 groups at 100yds plenty good enough for deer hunting for sure. I have yet to find a Tikka that will not shoot small, not benchrest small....but small right out of the box

I have a ruger precision custom shop 6mm creedmoor with 26" barrel that has shot 1/2 moa or less since day 1, even with factory ammo. You have to go out of your way to shoot this thing poorly. It's the only rifle I've owned that performs no matter what I feed it.

I'm getting close to shooting the barrel out and I'm dreading the day when I have to get a new barrel for fear it won't shoot as well.

That’s why I hardly ever shoot the 6br I mentioned. I don’t want to shoot out the barrel!

Same experience here, they just shoot.

Back in the day, when probably 99% of rifles were chambered with about six different cartridges, (maybe an exaggeration, but ya know what I mean) it seemed to me that most any bolt gun in 308 Win would usually shoot well.

I'm talking Rem 700's, 788, Ruger 77's, Winchesters, Savage, even the Marlin and Mossberg store brands and such. 308 was just a good shooting cartridge. jd
In my many years of shooting different cartridges and different brands of rifles, two cartridges stand out as being inherently accurate, the 222 Rem and the 308 Win.

PS: Back in the day those six cartridges you mentioned seem to do everything one would need done - I suspect they still will. ;) But then what would shooting writers / internet posters write / post about?

I put a WOA barrel on my RPR 6CM this summer. I bought his standard Wilson barrel but he also stocks Bartlein replacements. My replacement barrel shoots every bit as good as the original 5R barrel shot. FYI getting the factory barrel off was a bitch.

My Newer 6.5 Creed T-3's Barrel Looked to be, pretty "Good" !
But, I have my Own system of, light Polishing / Lapping Barrels ( the Rifling and the Throat areas "Ramp" ) with JB's on, a Patch over, a Bronze Brush "Gently" with, all Strokes ( 10-12 Max ) ONE Way, then, Barrel Break-in, Clean / Shoot 5 and again Clean / Shoot 10,.. clean, DONE and, they "Shine" after that, for easy cleaning with, VERY Little, Copper Build up.
My ole' Tikka T-3 .243 W. with, my 47 y/o Son shooting it, grouped .277 ( Ctr / Ctr for, 5 Shots ) with, 87 gr H-VLD's @ 3,130 FPS,.. Not Bad for, a Factory Rifle !
I seriously Doubt that, the Finn's would EVER sacrifice on,.. Barrel quality !
The Italians / Spanish ???
Yes but the Italians are the over lords now. :)

Thanks for the info, I just checked them out. I'm thinking about ordering their Bartlein because it's a 1:7 twist, which is what mine is now.
