What rifle to buy?

I was in London on business a couple of years ago and wandered into James Purdey & Sons.

They had a few beaters in the used rack

The 500 NE on the left was sold unfortunately, but that 28g O/U on the right was in pretty good shape and priced right!

£128,000. That’s like only a couple hundred US, right?

Id like to have a real good in shape side by side 410 with double triggers. Thats about as far of a double barrel Ill ever have

Its crazy how expensive these things are. No way it cost that much to build one. The workin man needs a regular ol walnut stock and just a functioning big bore. No reason for $30k piece of wood. It aint that far off from a side by side shotgun..

I put rifle sights on a 20" 12ga coach gun. Close as I will ever get to a double!
But like Pappy always said, turn the lights out and pretend and Itll be whatever you want it to be!
