What powder for 87gr V-Max?

I bought a Model 12 F 1-8 twist 6br off a guy and he tossed in a couple of boxes of 87gr V-Max bullets. What would be a good powder to try with these? Thanks in advance.

My 6BR loves Varget with CCI-450 primers. Will agg. In the .250 range if the driver is on. This is a varmint rifle, not a bench gun. ;D Hope this helps.

The 87 V-Max will shoot about equally well with V-135, Varget, or RL-15.
I use V-135 because it meters really better than the others. Also,
the V-135 is better in the shorter barrels because it has a faster burn rate.

Voldoc uses V-135 and goes 1,000 plus with the 87 V-max with regularity.
At first he used the 105 class bullets for 1,000 but now just stretches the
87 V-max on out there. He has a 12 twist Krieger, Nesika J.

Somewhat off topic. Are people getting good groups and speed with the 87's with 1-8 twist barrels or just the 10,12, and 14 twists?

I'm getting 3,250 fps. with a 28" 1-8" Broughton in 6XC. 39.0 of RL-15 with plenty of room left. This is a varmint rifle but shoots 1/2 MOA all day.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd
