what off the shelf ammo for ruger precision riffle in 243?

I recently purchased an rpr in 243 and was wondering what store bought ammo I should try to start out with? I will only be shooting out to 300 yards max and would mostly be doing paper at 100-200 yards.this is the first riffle in 243 I've owned. I wanted the 6.5 creedmoor but could not find one close to me. I will probably re barrel to that caliber later.(after I shoot out this one)so no hand loads this riffle comes with a 1 in 7.7 twist and a 26" barrel. will 100gr. be ok? what would be ok for what I want to shoot? Ill be doing mostly bench type and some prone shooting (front rest and rear sand bag)or on bi-pod. I dont know anything about this round other than everybody trying to tell me it's not as good as the 6.5 creedmoor, its what I have and I'm going with it.thank you for any help and opinions you have.

I would look for match type ammo in 100 to 108 grain. That twist is best with the bigger, longer type bullets. I don't know what is available in factory ammo. Maybe the ammo that Bryan Litz sells. I don't know it they have 243 though. This barrel would perform better with bullets like the Berger 105 VLD and Hybrid. The best way would be to reload for it. Matt

I have a Stiller Tac 30 with a 8 twist Krieger and it shoots the WW 90 gr plastic tipped factory load very well to 600 yards,,I would just get every different load I could find and try them till I found one it liked,,

I am shooting the 105 VLDH with 41.5 grs H4350 and it is flatter and holds in wind better than most want to give credit,,

Shot this group earlier today /errr... yesterday since it's passed midnight as I post this.

Factory Federal Premium 100gr btsp (Sierra Gameking)

Savage 11 action, .243win Shilen 26" match bbl. MDT HS3 chassis.

I don't know of anyone who makes .243 match ammo. I found Federal Fusion 95gr and Federal Premium 55gr & 95gr Ballistic Tip to be almost as accurate as the Federal Premium 100 btsp.

Check around where you live or local gun clubs, see if someone that reloads will give you a hand with some cartridges. You might even get them to show you how to reload!
