What non gun projects have you been doing?

Working on my motorcycle, a Honda VTX 1800N3. I busted the bike and myself up pretty good three years ago. Took it to a shop, last week, to do the work and was quoted $135 per hour. I must have been living under a rock, but I told him "I can't believe you just said that with a straight face."

So . . . due to sticker shock I'm on a mission. Health be damned.

LS3 swap in my 66 Chevelle. It’s close to being done. I took it as far as my limited talents could go and it’s now at my buddy Jeff’s to finish the wiring. Colorblind folks and wiring don’t typically get along. I’m no exception to that rule!
Had that same SS New in 66 396-375HP Went on Blocks Dec. 66 . Jan.67 Reported Ft .Dix .
Had it till Summer of 71. Oh ! The Days.

Did a partial re roof over the bedroom. Semi flat section. Should hold me thru the winter then, full roof job. Maybe $15K for a full pull off and re do. Just not into doing it myself anymore. Did it myself 25 years ago but just not into it anymore. Got rain last night so it was just in time.
Did get both windshields replaced on my car and truck. Found a place that did it "while I waited". Now I can see again. ;):)

My main project is walking around the yard several times a day to get myself well enough to do some projects. :)
That's great! keep moving, you don't have to do a marathon, just keep moving, My fathers worst enemy was the easy chair, oh how he loved to sit and sleep/read, I firmly believe he would still be alive and living on his own had he not sat so long in that chair that he lost the ability to walk, keep moving good for you! too hot? too cold? go to the mall and walk!

Thank you sir. I watched my dad fall apart for the same reason. In my case I had a big surgery 20 days ago and I’m blessed to have a second chance. Embrace the day!

Over the last couple/three spring thaws I’ve built my mountain cabin, I liked it so much we decided to call it home.
I’m in about 40,000 cash, if someone doesn’t like the way I live I tell them I don’t care, don’t bother stopping by.

Own a tree farm, every day is another new project. Got notice our timber cutting contract got bid by a big outfit, so am getting the big junk moved out of the way and stored in places not blocking the skidders, cutters, log trucks, etc. Then the Starlink install package arrived without the roof mount....so.

helping my grandson get his side business going...he's an FFL and has a small shop. So I suppose this really isn't "non-gun related". But I'm still very proud of him. He's starting slow, building up a customer base, and hopes to be able to quit his day job within 5 years and do his shop full-time. He got lucky and submitted his business license with the town, was approved, leased a facility, transferred his license from his home...then the town decided no more gun shops. He's the only shop in town, which is pretty sweet for a new business!

That is a truly disturbing story.

I didn't get any gun projects lined up for last winter so I built some RC planes. I've always wanted to learn to fly them and far from being a master I can take off and land and the plane will fly again. I've totaled probably 8 or 9 but with dollar store foamboard , hot glue and tape I can have another one in a couple of hours .View attachment 1479940

Here is a piper cub and the flying cookie sheetView attachment 1479941

Here is a couple more almost ready to go. It's been fun and something different for a change.
Here's an idea - one of the plantations near home has RC planes that are shaped like a flying wing. Each wing has a small capsule of black powder. They have a really good pilot to fly them. They line up with shotguns and he flies the plane by. A hit gives a satisfying pop and smoke. The trick is the guy is good flying them that hits are very rare.

Rebuilding ( removing rust, painting and beating back into shape) the bush hog I mow with. It was beat up pretty bad, wish i could blame it on someone other than me.
Let me get hold of it for a week and you can probably junk it. My theory is that if I can get the tractor over it, I can cut it.
