What Next for Remington & Rem 700?

As a "Lefty", I never, "warmed up" to, Winchester's, Rifles !
Saved my Money and bought, 2 LEFT Handed,.. Mk 5, German made Weatherby's when younger.
A Lefty, .270 Wby Mag and a .338 Win. Mag Custom W/ Douglas Premium bbl, on another Lefty, MK 5 action.

A lefty CRF M-70 is VERY speedy. I have seen one or two. They are New Haven models and fetch around $2000 even when moderately used. At least they used to.....

YUP, They became available, many years, later & too late, for me. I've never bothered to look at, Winchester's, since !
My 700 Rem action is OK and I knew that, there was, a possibility of needing the Bolt "re-timed" when I bought it. It's NOT an expensive "issue"

My son-in-law is a lefty, and I found him a Zastava (M-98 clone) in 375 H&H for about $800. He is tall so I bedded it in a laminate stock with a longer pull. With 250 grain TTSXs at 2750 fps it has mild recoil and easily shoots MOA.

It's looking like the NY location is going to be a no go because the unions believe no jobs is better than making a deal. It will probably get dissolved and the name/rights possibly machines will get shipped off to another manufacturer that deems it profitable. Properties sold off because that is what the company does that bought them and the union doesn't seem to be budging..

the remington name was purchased by vista --- seems like thats a hint. Would be fascinating to know what the intent has been from the get go of the purchaser. Ledd says they went to the trouble of getting an FFL. Id like to get my hands on some of the "specimans" in the Rem museum. Never visited and now of coarse wish I would have. Just my opinion, but it seems like the longer it goes without guns being made the less likely it will happen.
