What makes a bullet precise out to great distances

I thought/think G1 BC represents the standardized trajectory and drift performance of a 1 pound bullet of a very specific shape and density, (flat base) V, elevation, and all, and the small fractions associated with our bullets are their relative approximated performance of that standardized projectile.

" To a rough approximation, the BC can be
estimated as the fraction of 1000 yards over which a projectile loses half of its
initial kinetic energy. "

Ballistic Coefficients
Only if all bullets (no matter the caliber) were all fired at one and the same equated velocity (and atmospheric condition).

Run ballistics with a same bullet of .5-BC at 2500-fps, again at 3000-fps, and again at 3500-fps, taking note of the bullet energy levels at 500-yds, and you will see how very wrong you are.

Everything changes...nothing is precise. Each shot has uncontrollable variables. Bullet BC varies, as does, muzzle velocity, temperature of barrel, fouling in barrel, wind, the shooter, etc...and the bullet is not attached to the earth like the shooter and the target, usually are...the earth moves under the bullet, sometimes in opposite directions of flight, or left or right, or diagonally and inconsistently at that as the shooter changes position...space time movement variables, plus the wind vector all change location of bullet impact, just a few small examples of complicated variables with each shot.
So the idea is to get the variables that you have some control over as small as possible. A 22 LR would be perfect for the full range of its travel 1000yds or a mile all bullets through exactly the same hole. If one could control all the variables to be exactly the same for the duration of the shooting event, high BC or low BC wouldn't matter as long as every variable is exactly the same each shot, so that no variables exist, even in the shooter, earth, outer space influences, or solar storms...Impossible... so do your best with what you have...according to Einstein everything is energy, so you can harness the energy to get the reality you precieve.

No intention in any way to say anything political here, however after working with all the variables that we can control, and having no success, we could blame Putin.

Another way to look at is no we did not make any mistakes in our efforts toward consistency, we have just found out another way that does not work.

Happy shooting to all
