Call it what you like but from my vantage point, all 99+ % are basically causing retailers to drive the prices up which causes "preppers" to work against each other. Have at it my friend.

Just as pre-stupid pricing was beginning (or, rather, ending, in the run-up to Covid-19), there were a few 8lb jugs of the stuff around, at about $280 or so. (Including at a small shop near me.) I don't imagine we'll ever see those prices again.

Good point. I was just going to suggest that maybe people start looking at more economical calibers. I have certainly been advocating that to my customers. Lots of people switching to 223 with cheap bullets and having just as much fun as they were shooting 7 mm or 6.5.

My local supplier won’t even buy it anymore as he can’t even sell it at cost, people just won’t pay it anymore .over the years I’ve bought a lot of 15-16-19-22-23-26 and 33 from him, I still have quite a bit but at some point I’ll have to work up new loads or pay there ridiculous prices. Worked at ATK some years back and bout a lot while there. Still have friends that work there and they can’t even get it.

For those that haven’t payed attention, Powder Valley is out of stock currently on R16 at $43.50-$324. Watch how this price will jump when it be available again. Probably $60-$469.
 
As long as money is no object I'll pay what it costs to supply my love of shooting. There aren't many things in this world I truly enjoy besides my kids and shooting is one of them so I'll continue as before.

Oh and for you "I ain't buying it" folks I'll be happy to buy your rifles at a discount when you run out of consumables.;)

Perfect!….. he’s doing what he loves and his pocket book can obviously afford it so what’s wrong with it?……. I personally think a 10k trip to Disneyland is a total waste of money!…. Or a $100000 RV total waste of money or a $500k home!…. Or a $90k pickup and you don’t even haul anything!…But you don’t hear anyone bitching about those wastes of money!…. Just people willing to spend more than $14 a pound for powder!…. Those people are the skurge of the earth!…. They alone are what’s wrong with the economy of the world!…I live in a house my Grandad built!… most people’s chicken coops are nicer!…. I drive a 91 Dodge, have a 86 5th wheel but my powders shelves are full!…..

I may have to come out of retirement. I just can't seem to quit buying. I guess I've got a problem. They need to make a patch for this type of addiction so I can get weened off of it. I actually did not get to pull a trigger in a week now. It's killing me. I think tomorrow I'll run to the range and do a neccessary mag dump. I loaded 280 6br rounds 2 days ago. 87vmax and N135.
