I like the 338 Federal too.

No need for 308 with a couple of 06s in the safe.

My 7-08 is just fine, but prefer the 280.

Have been on the lookout for a decent 260 for a few years.

Planning a 25 Souper build too... maybe an improved of some degree.

I'd rather have a 6mm Rem than a 243 though.

Used to want a CHeetah Mk.1, but might have outgrown that one.

.308 case? I'd go .308 (I could be talked into 7-08).

If slightly different case, 7x57.

If .308 base, then 6BR.

Plain old 308. I just took my new old Winchester pre64 action and a new Bartlien barrel into a gunsmith near me. He had all kinds of “tactical type” guns with carbon wrapped barrels in his racks. I said “chamber it in 308” and he said “BORING!” I stuck with my choice.
