What is your favorite 204 Ruger powder

The two powders that worked well for me were RL-10x and H4895.

I've never used H4895 with the 204R, but I second the RL10X, and would also add Benchmark and TAC.

I started with 10x, as recommended in one of the gun of the week stories. There may be better powders, but I haven't had to look for one.

1-11 twist Criterion on a Savage 10 in a Choate stock. 39 gr SBK's with RL-10 X, Varget and TAC in order of best to worst accuracy. I got consistent .25 - .50 five shot groups at 100 yds up to around the 2K round count when I pulled the barrel

8208xbr with 39 Sierra's or 40 Bergers is the stuff, 4895 was pretty accurate but the ES was horrible so not good at longer ranges. Have killed several PDAWGS beyond 600yds with the 8208 loads.

My go-to is 27.5 of Varget. I get right at 3800 fps (26 inch barreled FCV) and 5 shot groups at or about 0.5 MOA, my best being <0.3 MOA.

Benchmark, BL-C(2), H-4895 and IMR 4064 all work well too. But your rifle will dictate to you what it likes best.

On my Remington 700, 39 gr Sierra BK, 26.9 gr of H322, Winchester SR primer, I load to an AOL of 2.350... I found out over the years that accuracy is very dependent on seating depth. John
