What is this die?

Got this die as part of a trade. It has no visible markings. It has a sleeve which slides in and out by gravity, fairly tight tolerances. There is a knob at the top which unscrews. It controls how far the sleeve goes into the die body.

Anyone know who made it and what it is for?

From bottom, looking into the die. The sleeve has tapers but no hole.

It is a Hornady bullet seating die. For some reason they don't mark them.
I would take some measurements and call them.

Mystery solved, thanks!

Will contact Hornady to see if they can tell me what cartridge it is for.

They are done by caliber like 22, 24, 25 etc. If you'll take the top off and let the seating stem out they are usually marked.

They make a micrometer top that really makes them quick for adjustment of seating depth. I have one for every caliber from 17 to 45.

I've found good numbers on seating runout. They are capable of roll crimping if you so desire.
