What is the smallest 'grain' bullet a 6br 1 in 8' twist can stabilize

i was thinking of using 80gr ball tip noslers for coyote shooting.

Does somebody have a load for this or will it even shoot correctly in 1in8 twist 26" barrel

80s will shoot great in a 1:8 twist 6BR. So will 45s and 50s for that matter.

My 8-twist PacNor loves the 80gr Bergers.

Wide variety of powders will work. You'll find some loads on this page:

None specifically for the 80gr Nosler Ballistic tip, but I would try H4895 or VV N135 for starters. I jam my Bergers, but I've been told the Noslers work well jumped also.

Silverfox,

Yes I got notice of the payment just today, our email server was down for 48 hours). Thank you very much! You'll note "Site Contributor" in your posts now. Much appreciated.

So, Where would recommend a start OAL procedure with a small bullet if the chamber in a 1in8 twist is throated for the 105 and 107 VLD's?

I fire formed some URBR brass into some 6-250 Imp brass using 65g FB using N135 and I just seated so the bullet was in the neck of the case. Barrel is also a 1 in 8 and they shot really good, best groups from this rifle to date, mid 1's for 5 at 100, go figure!

31g of N135 is about right for a Std 6BR, my 6-250 used 36g and ave 3490 fsp in fire forming the 6-250 Sav sized URBR's into the 6-260 30 degrees Imp,exactly like a 6BR run in .394" deeper to make a 1.914" OAL BR case instead of 1.520 for a std 6BR) These fire formed URBRs hold 50.3g of H2O

Excuse my ignorance, but what does URBR stand for? I sure hope your fire formed brass gives you groups as good as the origional ones.

I use 75 VMAX's and 70 Nosler BT in my 6 BR 8 tw and they both shoot great. I have been using 30.5 gr Benchmark with them.
Hope this helps

Rem 308 URBR brass, thinner walls and necks, small primers, designed for forming into what have you,6BR before 6BR cases were available), brass no longer made... since 6BR brass is made and Lapua 308 has the whatever market covered. Just whated to try the small primers so I got a few hundred for her :) She a LR prone F-Open Rig so I might try these 65g'rs at 300 M but no further. Got 105's and 115's for that...
