Well several of my friends an I have 6xc's with 8 twist barrels, we are looking for good load data on 90-107 grain bullets, all feedback appreciated! We have mostly shot our rifles with 70-87 grain loads with H4895, H4350 and Varget as powders, all working well. We are mostly varmint hunting and informal paper matches out to 500 yds, and will have a place to shoot on the farm out to 1100 yds when the crops are all in. We are thinking we will need to go to the 107 Sierras or similar to get the accuracy we want out to 1000yds? Also does anyone know where you can find load data from the bullet companies for the 6xc data, besides the one by Tubb here on the left index on this site.

Berger manual has the XC. For 105-108's I have used 37-39.6 H4350. IMR 4350. Max for 105-108 is in the 41.0 range. I typically use 38++ with 105-108's in mine. I shoot 107 MK's mostly. A 105 Hybrid will get to the grand mark no worries.

I'd get away from Varget and H4895 if stepping up to a 105 class bullet. I ran 105 hybrids in an 8tw XC, but I used VV N550 because I had a bunch of it, think 38.9gr. I'm running 110 sierra's in 2 XC's right now, 7.5 & 8tw. I like the 8 tw better, both around 39gr of RL 16.

I've got lots of home grown 6XC data

Savage BVSS with a Rifle Basix trigger and an 8 twist Criterion pre-fit barrel.......This target was shot very early in the barrel's life. It got better the more I shot it and the harder I pushed it.

These are top end loads so you need to back off a grain or two when testing in your rifle...of course you already know that!

For my Rem 700 w/Timney and Criterion Remage 1:8 barrel, the Hornady 108 ELD-M bullets simply loved 38.6gr H4350 and Rem 7 1/2 primers, producing a .15 group of 4 at 100 yds and 1 unexplained flier opening it up to .5 (of course). 38.4gr was a close second with a 4-shot group of .25 and again with the unexplained flier (same direction) opening it up to .75. I'm still wrestling with the right amount of neck tension using these unturned Peterson SRP cases. I'm relatively new to this caliber and enjoying learning what it likes and doesn't. Both of the aforementioned loads had velocity SD's of 9.8 and 7.3, so I can't blame that for the fliers. Turns out the rifle also likes 70gr Blitzkings over 40-41gr of Varget at 2.50 COL. It did not like the 75gr V-max over Varget despite SD's as low as 3.1. Good cooking doesn't always translate to good eating. ;)

My Brux barrel in 9 twist does real well with Berger 95 Hvld's ahead of WW 760. Groups are small and they hit white tails pretty hard. 760 behind 70 grain Ballistic tips is also a small grouper. This rifle was a Savage 10/110 predator that was just re-barreled to 6XC. A bit heavy for a walking gun but makes a good blind rifle. Custom Whidden sizer and Norma brass. One of the easiest rifles to make shoot I have ever owned.

I'm fixing to get a criterion 6xc or 6x47 lapua or a 6 creekmire, I'm really lookin at the 6xc I have bout 10lbs of H4350 and bout a 1000 6mm bullets, I live down in Glasgow Ky out in the country have a 100 200 500 yd range on the farm, I think Mr Tubb is the 6xc guru, I would go with his loads they have to be good he has the bling to show for it Happy shooting

Thanks for all the replies guys! 6mm Steve, you and I are practically neighbors, I live in Monticello KY, about 1 & 1/2 hours away from you! I will stick with the H4350 for now, I have about 4#.

Salazar has some load data on the XC using RL17, it work for me in Colorado. Do a search on the site there are several articles. Good luck.

I have a load that shoots lights out in my rifle. Some poo-poo the components but they work for me.
Moly 107 SMK’s
Lapua 22/250 brass fire formed
40.5 grs AA-4350
Federal 210 primer
2980 FPS

95gr Sierra TMK are good out to 1k yds and have a great combo of speed and BC. 3100 fps using varget in a 243 wssm AR with Shilen select match barrel.
