Good Morning All,
I have read all the post with great interest.
I am holding 2 new 6.5x284 Bull barrels in my hands and this is what were up to. Were testing both, one untreated, the second one treated.
I am recording all test results on both. The first barrel is being tested now, and the second one we are going to treat, test, and then compare the data between the two.
We want to know if treating the barrel make a difference, first in longevity, second, in accuracy. I am willing to try anything once.
Should I have this barrel treated and go with the comparison? I have seen the individual results here, and I have to admit, opinions/facts seem 50/50. If consistency improves, great. If longevity improves, great. If both improve, well, we will see what the future holds.
We chose this barrel because the 6.5x284 is known as "the barrel burner", throat going first.
Also, the barrel I will have treated, should I first install it and find it's favorite load, or just send it out to be treated?
Should I super clean this barrel before sending it in to be treated?
It looks like I will be contacting Hobie, but again, I am open to suggestions.
We appreciate your help and we are looking forward to your responses.
I will post the results once completed.
