What is Taboo?

This reminded me. Posting scantily clad women pics is bad and not allowed. Funny thing tho. A while ago I posted a pic of an old guy wearing a skirt and high heels and that was OK. Maybe I got a “free pass”?
Josh
My eyes are still burning- E Gads!

I saw one of these in downtown Grantspass
Yesterday carrying a purse.
Almost barfed in the car!

New guy here, I have posted some info in the welcome section but wanted to ask what is taboo on this forum? I am looking to expand my knowledge of handloading and certainly not start or participate in an internet argument of opinion. So what are some of the topics to stay away from or do I just need to take some lumps and learn the hard way?

Thanks.
Welcome! When I joined, I had limited experience with reloading. This forum is a wealth of information, and I have met a bunch of good folks on here that will help you.

In all fairness...While I served in RA . I find your screen name very offensive to a Vietnam war hero....henceforth the bumpy road ........out
This is the response I provided another member regarding what appears to be this issue:

Let me clarify this while issue, which I assume was bound to proliferate at some point. When I joined another gun forum I was becoming interested in longer range rifle shooting. I had seen a documentary on television for Mr. Hathcock. Simply, I was impressed by his skills, his service, and his demeanor. My father was a Marine and I guess you could say it was a snap decision on my part. It was not a decision meant to offend, rather than to admire the man. Certainly no malice intended, then or now.

I've had no real issue with this choice on my first forum. Since I didnt want to keep creating more and more names on different forums, I carried it to the second I joined. Seemed to be no issues.

When I joined a 3rd, all hell broke loose and the backlash was ridiculous. I dont think they've treated me the same since, even without knowing nothing about me as a person. All over a name.

As I've told others, I would expect outrage if my screen name was "yungboyluvver69" or "democrat4eva" or something along those lines. I chose it out of respect and admiration and if others wanted to make that choice, I'd have zero issue with it. I'm obviously not him. I'm not his ghost. I really dont understand the irritation with this and if it is such an issue on numerous forums, maybe it should be programmed as off limits for new users.

Here's my solution to this situation. If it's so offensive, I welcome the mods to allow me an opportunity to change it so as not to be offensive to anyone. I dont want this to simmer in the background with other members.

Your choice of user name is in poor taste and a lame attempt to bask in the reflected glory of another. Take advice from an old fart and go back and change all of these names on this and the other forums. You gain no respect or credence with the one chosen. There are over 40,000 member on here. Do a search for a Chris Kyle. Do the same on the other forums. See how many you come up with. Hint, here it's less than one.

Let’s all help choosing a new handle for this gentleman!

Who will go first?

Too funny!
I only saw him that one day but he’s popular as all get out now”

I believe my response was
" Are those his legs or is he riding a chicken?"
Still cracks me up
